Chicco Keyfit 30
Finding the right car seat for your new baby can be difficult. There are so many choices out there. How do you know which one is right for your family. One great infant car seat is the Chicco Keyfit 30.
What is the difference between an infant car seat and a regular car seat?
An infant car seat can also be called a bucket seat. It’s a car seat that sits in a base. The base stays in the car while you can carry the car seat out using a handle. This is convenient because if your baby is sleeping, you can easily take the out of the car and put them in a stroller (if you have a compatible stroller) or bring them into your location and not disturb them.
A regular baby car seat stays in the car permanently. Whenever you want to take your baby in and out of the car, you must fuss with straps and take only your baby out of your car. The disadvantage to this car seat is that when your baby is younger, it is tough to get them out of the car and keep them asleep. And when your baby is young, you need them to get all the sleep they can!
The Chicco Keyfit 30 is one option for an infant car seat. We used this car seat with both my son and daughter and loved it.
The Chicco Keyfit 30 holds babies from 4-30 lbs and up to 30 inches. It is perfect for bringing your newborn home from the hospital. When you purchase this car seat, it includes a newborn insert that you can use if your baby is on the smaller side. The newborn insert helps to keep your newborn baby’s head from rolling around.
The base includes a great LATCH system that makes the base easy to install in your car. The base also has a level on the side to make sure that you have it at the correct angle for the car seat to fit in properly and keep your baby safe.
The car seat itself has an easy to hold handle for you to be able to carry it. The car seat is a little on the bulky weighing in at about 9 lbs without the base. So when you are carrying it with your baby, it will be a decent weight. It can get heavy as your baby starts growing.
The Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat is compatible with most Chicco strollers to use as a travel system. They even have a lighter weight stroller option which is pretty easy to maneuver and is not as bulky to transport as some other stroller systems.
So if you are looking for a newborn/infant car seat, I’d recommend the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat!
