Moms Morning Routine: Why You Need One

For moms, mornings are stressful, jam packed and there’s always lots to do. You are the one who is in charge of getting everyone ready and out the door.

No matter what you do you can always feel like you are starting the day behind. Putting a routine in place to help you will definitely make your day go easier.

Starting your day off on the right foot can make all the difference in the world. A routine is the best place to start with this.

What is the Ideal Morning Routine?

Every mom’s ideal morning routine will look different. What works for one mom may not work for another.

Some moms would rather get up early to get some things done before the rush of the day or to enjoy that first coffee of the day in peace and quiet before the kids get up.

Other moms would rather sleep until they absolutely have to get up to grab those last precious moments of the sleep they likely lack.

Whichever choice you make, make sure it works best for you.

The ideal morning routine starts with figuring out everything you need to do. Then determining if you can easily get everything done before you need to be out the door in the morning.

As a mom, you know that things can easily go off the rails or unexpected issues can come up. It’s important to leave a little extra time for those things just in case. This will help you feel less stressed in the mornings.

How Do You Simplify a Morning Routine?

An easy way to simplify your morning routine as a mom is to plan to do things the night before as opposed to leaving them for the morning.

Some of the things that you can do the night before that would help to make your mornings less stressful are:

Pick out clothes for the kids and yourself

Make lunches and snacks for everyone in the household

Cut up any fruits or veggies before hand so they are easy to grab in a rush

Make a plan for what to give the kids for breakfast. And don’t forget about yourself too! That way you can just automatically get it ready and don’t have to worry about what to make.

A great way to not forget these things is to hang a family white board calendar right in the kitchen. This way you can take a look the night before and make sure you don’t forget anything.

Try to think about anything that may be different about the next day. Is there anything special at school? Do you have any appointments that will alter the day? Make a plan for how that will affect your morning routine ahead of time. Then you will feel prepared.

Get that coffee set for the morning so you are ready to go!

No matter what your morning routine entails, keeping it consistent can help you get into a groove where you are on automatic each morning. You know what you need to do and you can easily get it done.

Just remember that things can come up – do your best to just roll with it. That will make your morning routine less stressful, easier to get through, and out the door with little trouble!
