Simple Baked Ziti Recipe
As a busy mom, I am always looking for quick, easy meals to make my family. Dinner time can often be a rush with lots going on with the kids or just after a busy day.
Most kids love pasta. Who doesn’t really, right? This easy baked ziti dish is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Both of my kids love it – my daughter even loves to bring leftovers in a thermos to school for lunch the next day!
The best part about this recipe is you can make it ahead of time and pop it in the oven at dinner time. There is also very little prep work to be done. It’s a win/win!
Ingredients:
1 Box of Ziti or Penne
8 oz of Fresh Mozzarella
Jar of Vodka Spaghetti Sauce
Step 1: Boil the box of ziti or penne according to the instructions. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Step 2: While the pasta is cooking, chop up the fresh mozzarella into small cubes that will melt easily. You can use as much or as little as you want. I tend to like to use the whole thing.
If you are really strapped for time, you can also use shredded mozzarella but I prefer the fresh one.
Step 3: Drain the pasta and put it back in the pot.
Step 4: Mix together pasta, mozzarella cheese and vodka sauce.
Step 5: Put pasta into a baking dish. Bake in the 400 degree oven for 20 minutes.
And that’s it! You can easily do everything up until putting it in the oven ahead of time. Then it’s super easy at dinner time to put it in the oven and then dinner is ready and on the table!
A couple options to is to add some breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese on top.
