Best Diapers for Baby Diaper Cake
One of the best baby shower gifts for a new mom is a diaper cake. You can buy one from Etsy or you can learn how to make your own diaper cake. But what kind of diapers are best for a diaper cake?
First, a diaper cake is a cake like a traditional tiered cake of diapers. The fun part is decorating the outside. You can include things like a baby bottle, baby body lotion, burp cloths and other small baby items. Use an adorable stuffed animal or teddy bear as a cake topper.
Diaper cakes can be made with the baby shower theme in mind or as a baby shower decoration that is also a gift for the mom-to-be.
I love giving a homemade diaper cake as a gift because all new moms find out how expensive diapers are. I love to give something useful, fun and add in some little extras as well. It is one of my favorite gifts to give a special new mom.
There are a lot of different kinds of things to consider when trying to figure out best diapers to use when constructing a diaper cake.
Should you use cloth diapers or disposable diapers? What size diapers should you use?
Should I use rolled diapers or flat diapers? Do I show a design or plain white diapers?
There is a lot to consider. But the reality is that new parents will love a practical gift like a diaper cake. It’s a fun way to give diapers which is essential for a new baby.
What Kind of Diapers Should I Use?
The first question is what size of diapers should you use.
The best size diaper to use for a diaper cake is size 1. Generally, babies do not stay in newborn diapers too long.
Another option would be to use a couple different size diapers. For instance, size 1 and 2. Those two sizes are what a baby goes through the most.
Then you could use one size as the bottom layer. Next use the larger size for the middle layer and top layer.
Next would be what brand of diapers should be used.
If you like having some little designs on the outside (which adds a little color!) Pampers diapers or Honest Company diapers are a great way to go.
If you like having plain diapers, Up brand diapers, which are Target diapers, are a great idea.
The last thing to consider is disposable vs cloth diapers. While cloth diapers might be more economical, one of the main benefits of an adorable diaper cake is to help a mom out by giving lots of diapers and other useful items. A baby doesn’t need as many diapers if you use cloth diapers since they can be washed and reused.
