Crockpot Recipes for Busy Moms

It’s fall, the kids are back in school and life is busy!  On those type of days, nothing is better than a meal you can throw in the slow cooker in the morning and it will be ready when you get home.  If you read my post about my Moms Fall Must Haves, you know that I love a slow cooker!

But some recipes have tons of steps or things that must be cooked before, which takes the easy out of everything! Enter these easy slow cooker recipes for busy moms!

My favorite recipes for the crockpot consist of only a few ingredients that all you literally have to do is dump them in the slow cooker in the morning and set it and forget it!

My favorite slow cookers have timers so you can set them and they will switch to warm once the it’s done.  Then you sit down to eat, and everything is all ready!

Here are my favorite easy, quick slow cooker recipes for busy moms – you will notice that most are chicken.  That’s just because it hardly ever needs to be cooked before going into the slow cooker.

Plan to include these favorites in your weekly meal planning to make weeknight dinners a breeze!

Pulled BBQ Chicken

Take the chicken out of the package, wash, dry and season with salt and pepper.

Then put the chicken and some chicken stock into the slow cooker and let it cook 4 hours.

Drain the chicken, shred it and then add your favorite bbq sauce. Let it soak for another 30 minutes and then serve on rolls or separate with sides!

Chicken Tacos

Take the chicken out of the package, wash, dry and season with salt and pepper.

Put the chicken into the slow cooker and add salsa and a packet of taco seasoning.  Cook 6-8 hours – shred chicken and add frozen corn.

Serve in a tortilla with taco sides like lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese!

Italian Chicken

Get some chunky, garden spaghetti sauce and put that and chicken into the slow cooker, cook 6 hours, then serve with pasta!

Stuffing Chicken

This involves slightly more prep than the others, but still less than 10 minutes!

Whisk together a can of cream of chicken soup and 1 cup of milk.

Pour a little on the bottom, then put in the chicken and cover it with the rest of soup/milk mixture.

Then cover with a layer of chicken stuffing and one tablespoon of butter, cut up into pieces.  After about 4 hours, add another tablespoon of butter to the top.

Cook for 6 hours and serve!  I usually just make some vegetables to go with it.

Oven Stuffer Chicken in the Crockpot

Grab a Perdue Oven Stuffer chicken – they have a convenient popper on it so you can tell when it’s done.

Put baby carrots and onion in the bottom.  Place chicken on top and then season chicken with Lipton onion soup mix.

If you are in a hurry, you can cook it at high for an hour and then low for about 6 -7 hours.  Otherwise, it takes about 9-10 hours on low.  This is great because you already have a side in the carrots cooking with the chicken!

Turkey Tenderloin

Start by putting some carrots and potatoes on the bottom.  Place a turkey tenderloin on top and cover with chicken broth.  Cook 8 hours and serve!

  1. I’m always on the hunt for easy recipes and these look like recipes I could pull off. Plus I really want to use my slow cooker more this fall and winter so I’ll need to save this page for later! Thanks for the great ideas and I can’t wait to try them out.

  2. Until I added blogging and vlogging to being a FT working mom, I used my crock-pot every so often. Now it is a regular member of my family. And so will your recipes, especially the pulled pork. Sounds so delicious and they all sound so easy. Thank you for sharing.
